I thought I'd share a picture of part of our growing space to give you ideas on creating a unique Microgreen Farm. We have taken several store bought racks and converted them to hold our trays and kits. The smaller rack on the right is where we germinate our trays in standard seed trays. These trays when inverted create the dark environment needed to germinate the seeds. The larger rack is our window facing grow area with supplemental cfl lighting. The lighting is over the counter but have been chosen for high K rating to allow better growing action (6500K rated) which allows me to have a good amount of grow time, normally 16hrs a day. Seeds and supplies are stored under this area and along the far wall where we have additional germinating areas since we have at our disposal another growing location should we need it. There is enough capacity in this little setup to grow enough for personal use and for our commercial accounts since deliveries are staggered during the week. Grow out times on most crops are in the 6-7 day area so this makes this an ideal scheduling system.
